Over the summer the only vacation resort I managed to get to was the Wii Sports Resort. I learned how to fly a plane and visited all of the suggested sights. As well as said hello to all the people on the island by popping their balloons, it made them happy, really, they jumped up and down for joy. Tonight I completed my fifth and final stamp for my flight training and I am honestly happy to have this finished and behind me. It was a lot of fun but, that goal was hanging over my head. This is why I don’t play a lot of games, I get way too serious about them. I have a desperate need to finish what I start.
Other more meaningful goals and projects I have had recently were also completed today. In the wee hours of the morning I finished Bram Stoker’s Dracula, one of the 100 Books on the Everyone Should Read List I found at the beginning of summer. Since I found the list I have been reading every night after I finish drawing to chill out before bed. Finishing Dracula marks my 33rd book off the list. The next book I am going to read is a derivation from the 100 list, Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential, I am jazzed to start this book.
My final goal finished today was signing up all four faculty members for the SCBWI New England Annual Spring Conference Illustrator Academy. Everyone is excited and ready to get to work planning the day. For now I am not going to reveal anything more about who or what.
Now to work on painting “I Love You Every Second”

I love to work in sculpy. It helps me think outside of my normal comfort zone. I feel much freer with what I am creating. Usually I use sculpy to make Christmas ornaments, however, this Saturday I am going to be in a craft fair and I wanted to make some creatures for it. So I made magnet heads. They have all been a treat to make. I continue to have new ideas, I can’t wait to make them all!

In the past four months summer has come and gone. Fall has begun and this is the time I try to get back on top of my life. This is the time of year I set resolutions. I think one of the resolutions most people have is, start their blog. I am going to stick with that trend and start to be more active on my blog.
As with the resolutions there are also projects that are always present in the fall and winter months that I am beginning. A craft fair, finishing a self-published book, preparing next years Illustrator Academy, the Halloween T-shirt, starting Holiday Cards, Christmas Ornaments, two shows, and fitting in taking care of a baby.
This has been a jam packed year with a lot of growth learning how to manage time in a way no school or job could teach you. Even with the time suck of a baby, I try to stay committed to being creative or drawing everyday. I have stuck to that pretty well. Here are a couple of sketches that have made it to a blog I frequent, Sugar Frosted Goodness.
This are part of the self-published book by Sandra Hinds. The work continues with a hopeful finish by the end of the month. Presently the book is calling and for today, cheers!
